Welcome Back, Students!

Who: ALL! Students, Professors, Caretakers, ETC.
Where: The Great Hall
When: Jan, 2013, Beginning of the new Term!
Format: Either!
Open/Closed: Open to all!

Another year, another term of school!

After the extended winter break that had most of the student population (and quite a handful of the staff) returning home, it was time at last for classes to reconvine, all current residents of Hogwarts gathered together in the Great Hall for the Welcome Back Feast.

The Hall was ablaze of color and music and celebration, the glamourous feast materializing on the table in the very blink of an eye, the staff enjoying themselves (mostly) just as much as the students. Despite the looming promise of classes and examinations and the all too frequent grouchy professor, there was only cheer and festivities on everyone's minds on this evening.

Headmaster Madeldore, the kindly man who had taken reigns of the wavering school some years ago and fashioned it more efficiently into an institution that commanded both respect and pride from it's students, had taken the podium to speak out to those he most cared for, the teenagers and adults who so relied on his continual steady guidance. He spoke of past accomplishments with a soft, fatherly glow of pride and the bright future that laid ahead of them with a soft, but commanding tone.

He was a man of mystery, wrapped up in unanswered questions and unsolvable riddles, but when the gentleman spoke, his very soul was laid bare to the audience. He was viewed as a good man to nearly all, a kind, attentive father to the children so far from home and a strong, reliable headmaster to students and faculty alike. Too private at times, seemingly always trapped within his own thoughts, but when the time came forward, he was there for those who needed him most.

As the speech came to an end, the Headmaster taking a moment to wish each House good luck in the ongoing friendly competition between themselves, the older man eventually stepped backwards to reclaim his seat at the staff table, leaving one last gently spoken phrase.

"Welcome back, my students."

[INITIAL MINGLING POST IS A GO! Go nuts, lovely. Tag students and professors alike. May intermingle between House tables too!]
